Delicious 2.Awesome

Delicious

Delicious “2.0″ launched last week to much surprise and eventual grandeur. But it’s no surprise to me that a site like delicious, with it’s awkward domain name (was http://del.icio.us and now just delicious.com) and even stranger 1.0 layout worked so well for so long. Proof is in the concept, yet again. A solid idea with a simple implementation marks for a great “1.0″ launch, and an even better “2.0″ launch.

And on a bit of relevant side note, yesterday while attempting to watch the 37 Signals live broadcast, Jason Fried said something I’ve been touting for a while now. The domain name is dead, and really the only domain that matters is google’s. Users no longer adhere to the go button, but to the search button. And while google works great for just about anything, delicious works even better when looking for things like inspiration, random programming know-how and even searches about politics.

edit: fail for spelling delicious wrong in the title. ooops!
