Working with hosts, part I
We’re at the beginning stages of moving our idea from templates to an actual working prototype and we’ll be using Engine Yard for our hosting and consulting needs. I’ll be cataloging our experiences from setting up all the little details to launching our final public release, so stay tuned.
So far everything is working greatly and we teamed up with a great ruby on rails developer in Jacksonville, named Steven Bristol. We’re going to be setting up subversion and all the other basics to get our project moving soon so you’ll get to see what its like to make a real app.
On a side note, we’re use media temple’s grid server setup for our blog because it supports php and we love Wordpress. So we’re two weeks in, and I’ve got to say that Media Temple’s new grid service is by far, the most “spotty” (read: wtf!) service I’ve ever encountered. I know they’re going through updates and trying to fix things with their v 1.1 version of (gs) but man, i am not impressed.
